Privacy, plainly.

Aelipsis is operated by State Crescent LLC. It compares browser pages, text extracted from PDFs, and notes that you explicitly select. This notice describes the launch release and its hosted processing path; features that are not enabled do not collect data.

What the extension handles

While its side panel is open, Aelipsis lists the titles, web addresses, and favicon addresses of eligible tabs in the current Chrome window so you can choose sources. It reads page content only after you select sources and invoke a comparison. It does not monitor tabs, downloads, or files in the background.

Selected working context can include visible text from chosen pages, filenames and text extracted locally from chosen PDFs, pasted note titles and text, an optional focus, findings, evidence excerpts, and coverage or omission diagnostics.

On-device basic analysis

If you choose Basic on-device, source normalization and the limited deterministic analysis run inside the extension. No analysis request or analysis telemetry is sent to Aelipsis, OpenAI, Supabase, or Stripe. PDF bytes are always parsed inside the extension.

Hosted AI

Before a hosted operation, Aelipsis explains that the selected content will leave the device and asks you to choose. Hosted AI sends selected source text, source names and web addresses where present, provenance metadata, and optional focus over HTTPS to the Aelipsis API and its configured model provider.

Aelipsis does not write full hosted request bodies, prompts, source text, source titles, web addresses, excerpts, findings, pasted content, or focus text to its database or application logs. A successful grounded response may remain in API process memory for no more than five minutes to recover a safe retry, then expires automatically.

Accounts and service operation

When accounts are enabled, Supabase processes email, authentication requests, account identifiers, and sessions. The extension stores the resulting session in the local Chrome profile. Content-free records may store operation identifiers, result state, safe error codes, timing, source counts, token counts, model, estimated cost, allowance counts, and timestamps. These records do not contain the substance of selected sources.

Saved contexts

Source text, findings, evidence, and accepted-current decisions are written to Chrome local storage only after you explicitly save. They remain in that Chrome profile until you choose Forget, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension. Unsaved working context stays in the current side-panel session and can be removed with Clear.

Payments

Live purchasing is not enabled before launch. When paid plans become available, Stripe-hosted Checkout and Customer Portal will handle billing and card entry. Aelipsis will retain the minimum customer, subscription, status, and transaction identifiers needed to provide and account for paid access; card numbers and security codes will remain on Stripe-hosted pages.

Website analytics

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure aggregate page visits and referrers. It does not place advertising cookies or receive the contents you compare in the extension.

Service providers

• Render hosts the Aelipsis API when Hosted AI is enabled.
• OpenAI processes the selected context for Hosted AI with provider storage disabled in the request.
• Supabase provides authentication and stores content-free account, allowance, operation, and billing metadata.
• Stripe will provide hosted subscription billing if paid purchasing launches.
• Vercel hosts this public website and provides aggregate web analytics.

Your control

You can remove selected sources, clear temporary context, choose the on-device path, forget saved contexts, and sign out. For access or deletion requests concerning server-side account records, email contact@statecrescent.com. Records required for security, payment, tax, dispute, or legal obligations may need to be retained.

Limited use and security

Aelipsis uses information received through Chrome extension APIs only to provide its source-comparison features. Its use adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. Hosted transfers use HTTPS; provider and billing secrets stay server-side. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Changes and contact

Material changes to source handling will be reflected here and, where required, disclosed in the extension before changed collection begins. Questions or security reports can be sent to contact@statecrescent.com. Do not include passwords, payment data, or sensitive source content in an initial support message.
